Report from Eldey: A beautiful day continued as we sailed on a very cold but calm and sunny afternoon. More of our surrounding landscape was visible this time of the day, with the sun at it's highest point. With many passengers on board, we taught everyone how we spot whales and dolphins and it became a team work in trying to sight cetaceans. Despite all our best efforts, we covered a huge area throughout the bay but only managed to sight a rather elusive pod of around 5-7 white-beaked dolphins briefly as we were on our way back to Reykjavik. The behaviour of these animals is something we can never predict nor influence, nor would we want to, as we aim to show them in their natural environment. Concluding, we offered complimentary tickets to our passengers to offer them exactly this during a free return trip within the next two years.

Report from Eldey: Winter is just in front of our doorstep! The mountains all along the horizon had their tips glistening white in the morning sunshine. Snaefellkjokull was clearly visible, with it's big crater at the top and after only an hour of sailing with this incredible visibility and scenery, we spotted a pod of 6 white-beaked dolphins. As we approached them, they became curious, not only bow riding and swimming around us, but even spy hopping!!! It was mainly the 2 juveniles within the group that were extremely curious and would not stop exploring us, human watching, until they seemed to have been called away by the rest of the pod. As they left us, we moved on, encountering another pod of 3 white-beaked dolphins that looked to be foraging. First snow on the mountains, sunshine, calm seas and numerous dolphins. Not a bad start to the weekend.
