Tour at 17:00

Report from Hafsúlan: The wind was getting stronger again after the calm afternoon but the sun was still able to shine down on us between the clouds. The sea conditions were getting a little tougher and the waves whiter when we sailed out on the bay this evening. We had been sailing for more than one hour before we spotted a group of 6-7 harbour porpoises, usually this species is very elusive and hard to follow but luckily for us this group was not. The porpoises swam for some time in circles in front of us, coming at least twice towards us and even very close! Later on the tour we came across two other pods of harbour porpoises but sadly that was our only sighting of the tour. Unfortunately the bay was not as lively as it had been earlier this day but we could enjoy the beautiful sunset and all of the passengers got complimentary tickets that they can use with us within two years.

Report from Hafsúlan: the weather was just getting better by the day, sun was shining and the wind getting calmer. We headed straight to the area where we had seen the last minke whale of the morning tour, we slowed down and sailed around. After about 20 minutes we saw few blows coming up in front of us in about 300 meters distance.  We got a little closer and realised there were 2 minke whales there! We followed one of them, it came frequently up so it was wonderful to watch it go by. After spending a long time with this minke whale we spotted another one, a much smaller one. But it was a little more difficult to follow this small minke but luckily for us we found the forth minke whale not so far away. We enjoyed that whale until we had to go back to the harbour.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: the wind was coming strongly from the west and the sky was covered with clouds this morning but luckily it did not rain on us. We had sailed for about 50 minutes when we heard news from another whale watching boat that they had spotted a minke whale, they were not far from us so we could easily find it. This minke whale was very elusive and we only saw it for few times until we lost sight of it. We kept on going and after short sailing we came to another minke whale, it was nice one but just like the previous spent a long time under water. The third minke whale of the tour was the one that showed himself the best and in the same area we spotted a group of cute 3-4 harbour porpoises. On the way back to the harbour we ran unto our forth minke whale of the tour!
