Just when you thought today couldn't get any better it surprises you! The sea was even calmer than what it was this morning and the sightings were even more incredible. We started at Puffin Island this time and saw not only Puffins but many other birds also including; Geese (two species) Eider Ducks, Kittiwakes, Ringed Plover, Oystercatchers and Cormorants. After leaving the island we travelled for about 20-30 minutes before we came across.....wait for it......WHITE BEAKED DOLPHINS!! They were amazing leaping, chin slapping, tail slapping and came often less than 30 meters from the boat. Next cetacean we came across was Harbour Porpoises which were also fantastic surfacing many times, 10-15 meters from us, surfing the waves. Really Great. While we were looking at the Porpoises a Minke Whale was spotted in the distance and again a fantastic sighting. Surfaced many times and 60-70 meters from us too. After a while of not seeing the whale we headed off to another area and came across two Minkes and some Harbour Porpoises which seemed to be everywhere. Didn't know where to look. If that wasn't enough, on our way home we got to encounter the Dolphins again but I think by this time they had had enough of the boats and another Minke Whale. Also saw Gannets, Brown/Great Skua, Fulmars, Kittiwakes and Gulls. Mind Blowing Tour!!

Perfect Whale Watching weather once again. Calm sea and great visibility. We headed straight out into Faxaflói Bay and before long came across some Harbour Porpoises. They vanished soon after stopping so we continued on. 10 minutes later we saw some more Harbour Porpoises and this time they were great. It was a large scattered pod that surfaced many times. Just as we were about to leave the Porpoises we saw a Minke Whale. We sailed closer to get a better long but it didn't seem like it was in the mood for company so we let it be. It was the Passengers that spotted the next Minke Whale and what a great spot it was as it surfaced at least 300 meters away and what a great whale it was too, surfacing many times and occasionally closer than 100 meters. After a while it tended not to surface so frequently so we headed further offshore to where another Whale Watching vessel was that gave word of two whales nearby. The Whales were quite far apart so we followed one and the other vessel followed the other. We stayed with this Minke for a while before saying hello to the Puffins on Puffin Island. Birds seen include; Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Gulls, am Arctic Skua and puffins. Great Tour!!
