Report from Þruma RIB: We could not hope for better weather and sea conditions this morning. A sunny day in Faxaflói bay with a sea looking like a lake. Even if cold wind was coming from the glaciers, we were happy to go outside well protected by our overalls. We just got out of the harbour when we had our first encounter, a group of 4-5 harbour porpoises that was surprisingly easy to approach. We stayed a few minutes observing those little ones before they disappeared. We went quite far in the bay looking for bigger whales, until our captain spotted the blow of humpback whale. We gently approached it to observe how this animal was fluke diving, coming back to breathe and fluke diving again in a very calm and relaxed way. After that we found a pod of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins that were apparently very busy feeding. We could see them from very close when two of them went under the boat. During the way back we saw from far away splashes made by another humpback whale that was tail slapping! We could witness this amazing show during 10 beautiful minutes! What a tour!

Report From Elding: This tour was just perfect, little to no wind, the sea was so calm you could see the clouds reflecting from it. The wildlife was also very relaxed today, enjoying the good weather. In these conditions it was easy to spot harbour porpoises and there were many, at least 20-30 throughout the tour popping up here and there. We also came across a large pod of 10-12 white-beaked dolphins that travelled towards us and under the boat, so easy to watch and follow them casually swimming just beneath the surface of the still waters. The highlight of the tour was not 1, not 2 but 3 humpback whales. They were feeding in separate areas at first but two soon came together to hangout and catch up with each other but after a little while went on their way again. Quite interesting how similar behaviours can be between animals and people. It was just a beautiful, relaxed, enjoyable afternoon tour.
