Tour at 13:00 This tour was a bit similar to the morning tour. The first whales we spotted dived too long for us so we went on. But at the end of the tour, again rather far out in the bay, we finally spotted a few minke whales feeding. One even loungefed once!!! Like in the morning, there was food at the upper water layer and the whales spent a lot of time at the surface.
Tour at 9:00 We had wonderful weather today! We had to spend some time searching for whales and passengers had to show much patience till we found nice ones. The first two whales we spotted seemed to be feeding on fish which was deep down at the bottom, so they dived such a long time that we couldn't wait for them. But later we found an area with at least four or five feeding minke whales. The food here was at the surface. We saw many birds feeding, too. Twice the minke whales showed an interesting feeding behaviour. They fed just right under the surface and were on their side so we could see their flippers rising up into the air.
