Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Hafsúlan for the 9:00 and 13:00 Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

Report from Hafsúlan: Our day started with a sunny, clear sky and a flat sea waiting for us. As soon as we left the harbour, the sea started to be a bit choppy, but we still had a beautiful morning ahead, even though it was still cold. About 45 minutes later, we saw splashes at the distance and these were made by a pod of white-beaked dolphins, so calmly swimming. We spent a while with them, enjoying the view, and even when we decided to leave them to find something else, it felt like they were following us, as they started to even bowride. A blow in the distance got our attention and we followed it. It was a humpback whale, the same individual we saw on the last few days, David Jones II! He was resting and swimming around, but as soon as we saw that he was swimming away from us, we decided to check other areas out. It was a lovely ride, with the sun hitting our skin and the mountains, improving our beautiful landscape at the bay.

Report from Hafsulan: After having a successful morning of whale watching we were hopeful of a repeat this afternoon. As we headed further out into the bay we realised the forecast was wrong and the swell was much larger than anticipated. But our passengers battled through the worst of it until our captain guided us to some shelter. It then calmed for the rest of the tour but unfortunately no cetaceans came to visit us. We therefore gave out complimentary tickets so people can come back and have better luck so see some cetaceans.
