Report from Eldey: We sailed out in beautiful weather, and the sea was pretty calm. We sailed quite far out but we eventually ran out of time and headed back, but ofcourse we never stopped looking for cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises). Unfortunately we did not succeed in finding any, but we enjoyed the beautiful weather, landscape and birdlife while sailing. We then offered all of our passengers the opportunity to come back on another tour with us for free whenever they like in the next two years.

Report from Hafsulan: A really sunny and calm weather today, just perfect for a whale watching tour. Our passengers were enthousiast seeing the cute atalantic puffin during the trip, while enjoying a good sunbath on the outside decks. We first stopped because two passengers saw a whale but we couldn't find it so we continue our search. We slowed down the boat for a quick sighting of 3-4 harbour porpoises. Those shy animals fastly disappeared. We kept going and our patience was rewarded. We saw 2 minke whales surfacing. And during the way back we also found 2 playful white-beaked dolphins, hiding under the boat and bow riding. The wildlife is always full of suprises!

Report from Eldey: We headed out from the harbour with a clear sky toward our usual spotting area, differents groups of  atlantics puffins flew near the boat, some passenger were surprised how small they are. After half an our sailing we spotted our first minke whale, it came up to the surface different times, so when it went for a long deeper dive we decided to sail towards the north looking for more individuals, the water was calm so many passenger stayed outhside enjoying the sun. When we started to headed back to Reykjavik a black-back of a minke whale showed up in the distance and we had the opportunity to saw it a couple of times more before we got to the harbour.

Report from Hafsúlan: The sun was shining strongly and the sea was calm as we were sailing throughout the bay. The outside decks were full of people helping us to spot the animals. It took us a while to find our first minke whale! It seemed really busy by taking really long dives again and again, so it was difficult for us to follow the animal. After a few long divings, we decided to continue our way to try to spot another animal. After a few minutes, another minke whale appeared in the distance. It was difficult to spot because it was undeer the sun glare, but we managed to get really close to it. It was a really nice sighting! Surfacing continuously really close to the boat, on both sides so everybody was able to admire this beautiful mammal! After a while with the whale, we had to go back to the harbour because we were already a bit late. In the way back 2-3 white-beaked dolphins made a fast visit before heading somewhere else. It was a nice sunny day.

Report from Elding: The weather was even better than this morning, it was warmer and less windy and the sea was very calm. We sailed far out without finding whales, but in the meantime we enjoyed the wonderful landscape and had an adventurous view of a rainbow above the mountains. Then as we headed a little further back into the bay we spotted a beautiful minke whale! It was feeding, and it was very calm around us so we could stay with it for a while and have a very nice look at it. It was a truly wonderful tour.

Report from Elding: A smooth ride out into Faxafloi following the midnight sun, We sailed west far as we could go in the time limits of the tour. The odd bird flew past but generally there was not much happening. We searched and searched for about 1 1/2 hours until another vessel let us know of a pod of white-beaked dolphins. A group of about 6-7 individuals that were quite difficult to follow but we saw them a few times. The encounter of the tour was not as good as we would have liked for our passengers so we offered them a complimentary ticket to come again for free in the next 2 years. We still loved the sun setting over snæfelljökull. A beautiful but very slow evening tour.
