Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey and Hafsúlan: The wind had calmed down a little on this tour but it didn´t matter because the whales were very close to land, just on the other side of the island Viðey. Five humpback whales in total, one pair and four scattered single individuals. They were all busy feeding and many times coming above the surface so that we could see the belly of the whale and occasionally the mouth was open so that we could see the baleen plates. Hafsúlan also had the pleasure to see a small one breach too (jump out of the water). It was incredible to watch them feeding just a couple of meters from the island of Lundey too. Too bad it is still early for the puffins or else they may have been feeding with them too.

Report from Eldey: It was really windy on the tour and it felt much colder than last few days. We were lucky to find humpback whale only 20 minutes away from the harbour, next to Engey. It was not surfacing frequently but it was easy to photograph it because it surfaced always so slowly. It seemed to be relaxing there and often stayed for a long time close to the surface so we could see the whole body. We decided to go a bit further because we heard news from another boat that they had seen another humpback. It took us a long time to finally find it but after that we got amazing look at it. It head slapped and tailed slapped few times within 200 meters distance. Even though we had traveled a bit out on the bay we were still closer to land than our main sighting areas.
