Tour at 1300

Starting again from Hafnarfjörður we sailed again into the foggy and rained Faxaflói Bay. Not that far than in the morning tour we found the first 2+ Minke Whales of the afternoon. As they were harder to spot than those in the morning we decided to head further out to the place where the Minke Whales were in the 9 o'clock tour. On the way to this area an other Minke surfaced but we just saw it twice and it did not show up again. After that we sailed for a long long time up to the top of the peninsular, until we had to turn to head back towards Reykjavík were we ended the tour. But we were still searching sailing through an other area than on the way out. In the middle of the way back some more Minke Whales surfaced plus a pod of Harbor Porpoises in between of them. Those Minke Whales were a bit challenging again, but all in all we got quite a few Minke's to see during that tour. A long tour in a foggy and rainy bay with Minke Whales and some Harbor Porpoises!!!

Tour at 0900

Due to strong winds we decided to sail from the harbor in Hafnarfjörður today. On the way out it was raining a lot with even some hail for a short period of time. The bay was foggy and we could not see far, as some passengers shouted one o'clock!!! And we had a great surprise a Minke Whale surfaced not far away from our boat. In the same area were at least 3+ individuals, all of them a bit challenging but still great to look at!!! A nice morning with the busy Minke Whales of Faxafloi Bay!!!
