Report from Eldey: The visibility over the bay was still good, but the wind had picked up. After sailing for about an hour 4-5 harbour porpoises showed up and they where easy to spot because of the splashes at the surface. We kept heading out further in the bay, where a minke whale was found. It was difficult to predict the behavior of the minke whale, there must have been two individuals in the area. At the end of the tour, we where so lucky to see a beautiful humpback whale, that gave us some great sightings and even shoved the fluke. The sun was shining and it looked great when the humpback exhaled, we could see the rainbow in the blow. After about 30 minutes of enjoying the humpback whale, we headed back to Reykjavik.

Report from Eldey: What a beautiful day to be out at sea, the sun was shining, the sea fairly calm and the wind not too strong. Once further out into the bay a blow was spotted and once closer we could identify this animal as the minke whale, it surfaced beautifully and quite a few times then up popped another one and then another! 2-3 Harbour porpoises then popped up to join the fun and stayed with us for sometime we could even follow them under the water as the swam around the boat. The minkes were also surfacing all the way around the boat which was just lovely. A large blow was then spotted in the distance so we headed over and found ourselves a humpback whale, which surfaced many times showing us its beautifully long pectoral fins as it did so. A lovely morning to be out at sea.
