✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE |  13:00

Report from Elding: Even though we didn't have sunny weather today, the warm southern wind was making this tour very enjoyable when it comes to the temperature. It's a pitty that the pandemic is causing so few people to wittness what is going on in the bay at the moment. However, the guests that we had on board had a great show despite a bit of swell. Today was one of those days that we call a "full house"; we checked all the possible cetaceans (that we usually se in the bay) of the list. We had a few encounters with harbour porpoises, a pod of 5-6 white-beaked dolphins playing around the boat, minke whales in every possible direction and a pair of humpback whales that were sticking together and a few times came 15-20 m away from us. Sapienti sat.

Bird species seen today: northern fulmar, northern gannet, common guillemot, black-legged kittiwake.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today for the tour at 13:00. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.

At this time we have to ask that all our guests and staff ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser on a regular basis is advised, as well as wearing a face mask when keeping a 2 metre distance from others is not possible. Masks are available for purchase in our ticket office and hand sanitiser stations are located in high traffic areas.
