Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan and Elding: With all the passengers we had coming with us today we needed to take out two boats so that they all had space to watch the animals and move around the boat. We sailed to the area we found a minke this morning but there was no sign. We travelled further and further and further with no luck until suddenly 9,0´clock, A Minke Whale appeared on the left side of the boat just 50 meters away. We watched this whale for a long time surfacing many times. It was fantastic and so nice to see these whales back in their feeding grouds.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan. We sailed from Reykjvaik harbour this morning with beautiful weather, sun on our back but still early so the air hasn´t had a chance to warm up so it was very brisk out on the water today. We travelled over a large area and saw many birds but no whales, it wasn´t until near the end of the tour that our luck changed. Seeing a fin from a Minke Whale in the corner of my eye, we stopped the boat and waiting, it was a long wait until we saw it again far away but it must of been lunge feeding because there was a big splash. Unfortunately most passangers didn´t get to see it so we gave out complimentary tickets so that they could come again for free and try again.

Birds seen on todays tour included; Eider Ducks, Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Cormorants and Glaucous Gulls.
