Report from Eldey: We sailed out of Reykjavik under eastern winds and surrounded by all the cinematic landscape covered in snow. The patience of the crew was put to a test, as it took us a while to find our first sighting. But little did we knew we were up for a unique experience. As usual, our persistence paid off. We finally found a humpback whale! It was playing hard to get at the beginning but we got to enjoy it for quite a long period of time and at some point quite close to our vessel. And we even got to witness some acrobatic behaviour! Another tour to remember.

Report from Eldey: We are SO glad the weather is getting better! Finally winds are calming down and the swell is getting lower too. This kind of swell is actually what we enjoy, as our boat is basically surfing! It took us a while today to find our first cetacean, as we searched an area filled with active seabirds, which usually are the places we encounter animals! However, we found nothing in this area but saw first just one minke whale far in the distance that surfaced 3 times and then were surprised by another minke whale, much muuuuch closer to us! It was very tricky to follow it as it was feeding all throughout the sealevels, moving quickly and randomly. But then patience was rewarded with 4 stunningly close surfaces, about 25 meters away from the bow of our boat. Having braced cold winds and snowfall throughout the trip to see this beautiful whale was surely a satisfying feeling.
