Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey and Hafsúlan: The weather had calmed down a lotand the sailing was also smoother than in the morning. Still we had to sail into swells for the first half of the tour, this rocked our boats and made whale spotting more challenging. When we turned around and sailed with the wind and swell it felt much easier. The Reykjanes peninsula looked stunning, shining red from the sun that never rises high above the mountains in this time of year. Even though we went on two boats and could spread out to search for cetaceans we were not able to find them today. Everyone was offered another whale watching ticket to have a second chance with us to search for the animals. May the coming year give us more luck with the wildlife in Faxaflói. Happy new year!

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsulan: When we go out this morning we were welcomed by a wind coming from North-East which made sure of giving us a bumpy ride on the way out. Fortunately, this adventure was lit by a splendid sun raising in our back.We eventually reached the coast of Akranes and benefited from some shelter, so the shaking calmed down, and we could search for cetaceans at a clamer pace. Halfway through the tour we turned back toward Reykjavik, and we now had wind and waves in our back. From here it became a lovely cruising, sometime the boat gently surfing on the waves, and we were heading toward a sun that was getting brighter and brighter, shedding lights on the snowy mountains. It's a shame that we did not find any animals to complete this frame ! The tour being unsuccesful, we offered complimentary tickets for our passengers to come back with us, hoping that next time they get a little bit more than nice landscape pictures.
