Report from Eldey: Snow was our welcoming in the last day of Christmas, a kind of omen to celebrate the past few days of holidays. Nonetheless, our brave passenger decided to carry on in explore Faxafloi. We had scattered snows but at the middle of the tour the sky cleared up and we enjoyed the magnificent view of the bay. One of the things which we delighted our eyes were the birds, fulmars have made the way back to Iceland after some weeks in the big blue, guillemots were diving from now and then and cormorants next to eider duck were everywhere. Apart from nice views and significant amount of birds, we had also encountered some cetaceans. It took a while to find them but at the end we spotted a pod of 6-7 white-beaked dolphins who seemed to be in rush when we met them but later on we enjoyed their presence around our boat, taking a close look to this relaxing group. In our way back we got even luckier, when a small pod of 5-6 small harbour porpoises crossed our way. It was a beautiful afternoon exploring the wondering of the bay.
