 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 17:00

Report from Eldey: Grumpy skies and heavy fog, compromised a bit our visibility, but this tour was nevertheless quite successful! In fact, wind conditions improved a lot, endorsing a very pleasant ride, apart from a light rain. Action started shortly after we left the harbour, as we saw some big white splashes from a far. These turned out to be a pod of 5 or 6 white beaked dolphins jumping out of the water! These inquisitive creatures approached us, providing our guests a very amusing experience. Later one we ran into a couple of minke whales, but these were behaving quite erratically, making it impossible for us to keep track of them. Closer to the end of the tour, we found another pod of 4 or 5 white beaked dolphins, breaching a few meters away from our vessel! This journey could have not ended on a more spectacular note!

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We could not go out at 9 o clock because of the storm that we had in Faxa Bay, but we were ready to go out on our tour now with winds having calmed down noticably. It was really an Icelandic adventure at sea. The rain did not stop us to go to our usual area to spot the animals. It seemed like food in the bay was scarce as we were scanning the surface for a long time without any sighting. We had the opportunity to see some northern gannets flying around the boats. Unfortunately we went back to the harbour without any encounter so we offered our passengers the opportunity to come back for free with a complimentary ticket. Hopefully second time will be the charm.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. The sea is a bit rough today so if you are prone to getting sea sick, we do have sea sickness tablets available free of charge at the office and on board.
