Status: RUNNING

Tour at 17:00

Report from Elding: As we sailed out from Keflavik once more, we could finally enjoy some good weather. We had only sailed for about half an hour when a minke whale came to the surface. It surfaced a few times, but then disappeared. We where optimistic after seeing the whale, and kept searching the bay. A big flock of northern gannets was observed in the horizon, and we went in their direction. As soon as we where close to the gannets a pod of 3 white beaked dolphins came very close to the boat. It was a very nice experience. Although we did see two species of cetaceans on this trip, it was a challenge to spot the cetaceans. Therefore we gave the passengers complimentary tickets, hopefully they will have more luck on their next trip!

Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding: The afternoon trip from Keflavik was marked by an interchangeable weather, in which we could experience the four seasons in less than 3 hours. As we got closer to one of our main areas we discovered a huge flock of hungry northern gannet. They were feeding frenetically and we could see how energetic these animals are. Apart from that, we spotted a minke whale in the middle of this gannet-storm. It was feeding so we only got to see short glimpses of this cetacean. Unfortunately, we couldn't have a good look of the whale so we offered complimentary tickets to all of our passengers.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Elding: We sailed out from Keflavik this morning in cloudy weather. Again today the weather was very indecisive, we had lovely sunshine one minute and the next hailstorm. During the hailstorm, we saw a minke whale surfacing right in front of the boat. It was very close, but because of the storm, not many passengers saw the whale. Luckily about an hour later we found another minke whale. It was hard to predict the direction of the minke whale, but it surprised us by surfacing very close to the boat. Its was a challenging tour, but its was nice to see two minke whales.
