Tour at 13:00

What a day. Beautiful weather, loads of cetaceans and amazing scenery. The passengers spotted White-beaked Dolphins first but they were a little bit elusive so we didn't stay long with them. Then the passengers spotted a Minke Whale which surfaced many times and quite close to the boat too. Another whale watching boat came along soon so we went further out. Suddenly another Minke came to the surface and we found ourselves in an area with 3-4 Minke Whales. didn't know where to look. Really incredible to see so many of them in the area and one that we knew very well too called Megan which was seen in the beginning of May 2010 and mid April 2011. After a while we wanted to see if we could find some Dolphins and they weren't far away. A pod of about 3-5 White-beaked Dolphins were feeding, swimming in tight circles, really fascinating behaviour to watch. Once they had finished you could see them travelling towards another pod not to far away. We slowly followed them and found ourselves again surrounded with at least 10-15 White-beaked Dolphins. We sailed a bit further out to see if there was any other cetaceans in the bay but alas no. We headed back to the harbour and on the way saw two more Minke Whales and another small pod of White-beaked Dolphins. Great Tour!

Tour at 9:00

The sea was mirror calm with a bit of swell and fog which soon cleared. After a little while of sailing the crew spotted a Minke Whale in the distance, however once we arrived the Minke Whale did not want to show up again. Then the crew spotted a lot of White-beaked Dolphins and a Minke Whale further still. We had a great time with the dolphins but and the Minke Whale didn't show its self. After watching the dolphins for a while we headed further out and again spotted a Minke Whale through a pair of binoculars. We went to the area but once again no luck. We started to head back to the harbour until another whale watching vessel let us know of a Minke Whale they found so off we went and got a great view as it surfaced many times. So, it is so nice to see our buddies the Minke Whales after a long winter with their absence. So happy to have you back.
