Tour at 13:00: Report from Hafsúlan. Today we sailed out from the harbour in Sandgerði because sea conditions there were better than in Reykjavík. It was cloudy but not very cold. After sailing for about an hour we spotted a humpback whale behind the boat. We sailed towards it and got pretty close to it but it was moving rather fast and hunting. It came up a few times and then went for a deeper dive for about 5 minutes before coming up again. We watched it for some time before heading back to the harbour. On the way back it got a little colder and more wind but we saw the humpback pretty often and even saw its tail go up in the air so it was a very good tour.

Birds seen on todays tour included: Gannets, Kittiwakes, Fulmars , Eider Ducks, Black-backed Gulls, Lesser black-backed gull and Glaucous Gulls
