Tour at 13:00
Report from Hafsúlan: We took our passengers, at no extra charge, to the habour of Hafnafjörður where the whale watching boat was waiting for them. The weather was not at it's best and so we used the Reykjanes to gain shelter to have the sea conditions smoother and a more comfortable tour for our passengers. We were thrilled to encounter a pod of harbour porpoises today, a species that is usually quite shy and difficult to track but these were great, surfaced very close and it was wonderful to see them as it has been a while since our last encounter with these little guys. Our policy is however, if we don't see whales or dolphins then we give out complimentary tickets valid for two years. Even though, the porpoises were such a delight to see and watch.
Birds seen today include: Fulmars, kittiwakes, eider ducks, guillemots, glaucous gulls, black-backed gulls, gannets, cormorants and shags.
