Report from Elding: Easterly wind drove us far from Reykjavik without even feeling it, sailing was calm and relaxed. After a bit a first minke whale would show up and we managed to see it three more times, but had to do some effort in order not to lose it. It moved fast and eventually we decided to look further for more active wildlife, went along many northern gannets and if we have had more time they might have lead us to the schools of fish. In this case we turned home to come across one more minke whale to see it a few times.

Report from Eldey: Our evening tour became in a very lovely sailing experience around Faxafloi. Views from the bay were extraordinary, we witnessed very nice color in the horizon as the sun was setting. Lots of seabirds were crossing our path and we were delighted with their magnificence as they were gliding in between the waves. It took a lot of time to find cetaceans but we did. A very relaxed minke whale surfaced very close to us several times and we got a very good look at this animal while it was resting near the surface of the water. Sometimes it is not about the quantity but the quality of the encounter. The way back to the harbour was highlighted by the presence of a "pirate" sailing vessel with black sails which left a smile in our faces.

Report from Hafsúlan: We had a cloudy day but no rain clouds in sight so that was good. As we sailed into the bay we had some reports that the long-finned pilot whales were still in the bay from yesterday so we went to look for them. After some searching we saw them, just 4 of then travelling together, most likely males. They went for a dive so we went to search a different area for something else. We then stumbled across a minke whale. It surfaced close to our boat and we got to hear it's breath. We later saw 2 other minke whales, one being Humpie, a regular in the bay that has come every year since 2011. Then we headed back to Reykjavik after this great tour.

Report from Eldey: Afternoon was still cloudy but sea was calmer than in the morning. We were prepared for long sailing till cetaceans but again nature had a surprise for us. From the distance we saw only few dorsal fins so we knew that it must be some kind of dolphins. We weren't´t wrong, neither exactly right as we saw 3 pilot whales. This "black fish" was traveling towards Reykjavik in slow movements but we had a little action when one of animal performed some tail-slapping. There was big interest around pilot whales from other boats so we left to look for other species. We found 3-4 minke whales, they were more challenging to watch as they were swimming fast providing aerobic workout for our guest forcing them to run from left to right side of the boat but everyone got to see some.

Report from Hafsúlan: Quite some sailing was to be done before Hafsúlan carried it‘s passengers into an area with a lot of seabirds forming flocks over and over again. Of course the minke whales would not miss out on such a feast and so there were approximately 5 of them to be witnessed while they were busy, all around the boat.

Report from Eldey: Our tour this morning was accompanied by light rain and a rather grey sky, although we got to see some sunshine above the mountains around the bay. The first sighting for the tour were 3 pods of white-beaked dolphins, in total about 15 individuals. They were all around the boat, jumping and spinning in mid-air! Another incredible encounter with these amazing animals. After enjoying the time with the dolphins, we went to have another look around the bay. We came across 3 minke whales, however, these individuals were rather elusive and hard to follow. After we managed to see them a few times anyway, we started our journey back to the harbour.

Birds seen on today's tours include: atlantic puffin, northern fulmar, northern gannet, common guillemot, arctic skua, lesser black-backed gulls, black-legged kittiwakes
