Report from Elding: The weather didn't change very much from the last tour, the sea was calm and we were still able to view the beautiful landscape all around us. After sailing for about thirty minutes we spotted a blow about a kilometer away from us, and as we got closer we found out it was a humpback whale! The whale stayed in the same area and took deeper dives quite frequently which might indicate that he/she was feeding further underneath the surface. We stayed with this lovely whale for about half an hour and decided to head further out to see if we could find something else. And so we did! We found 2 seperate humpbacks and one of them came very close and allowed us to take a good look at it. We then started heading back to the harbour, but on the way there we got another great view of yet another humpback! We really couldn't ask for a better tour!

Report from Elding: Another beautiful morning out in the bay of Faxaflói. Calm sea conditions but again a brisk easterly wind. Most passengers used the free onboard overalls to keep warm outside or stay insid ethe nice warm saloons. It took us maybe 45mins to reach an area in the bay where we had our first whale sightings. Two solitary humpback whales, seperated by about a kilometre but the blows easily visable. They seemed to be diving for a long time, about 7-8 min deep dives and surfacing roughly around the same time. Have to be patient. As we were waiting we noticed another far in the distance splashing around, hard to see actually what the whale is doing but probably lad lobbing (throwings its tail in the air and slapping it on the surface), as it seemed to be more active we got closer. a easy going whale that was looking for food and feeding. Surfacing often and then later taking long dives. Suddenly three popped up together side by side. One we were watching and two others that joined him/her. Altogether we must have seen atleast 3 or 4 individuals Just amazing to watch these animals and learn a little more about them with every encounter. We sailed closer to coast after that and took some nice photographs of the surrounding areas, A perfect way to end a great tour.
