Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding: The sea was still a little bit rough and the wind was picking up. We headed back to the same area where we were earlier and found some feeding Gannets. We spotted a Minke whale in the distance and sailed towards it but when we got close it was nowhere to be seen. We spotted a couple of groups of White-beaked dolphins but they didn't show us much interest. One Minke whale popped up quite suddenly next to the boat just 30-40m away and surfaced a few times very close to the boat. It even swam under the boat, but after surfacing a few times it disappeared and we couldn't spot it again. A bit of a tough trip.

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out in a little bit bumpy weather. First we spotted a small group of harbour porpoises. They were fast swimming and we lost them. Further out we spotted two minke whales. One came quite close to the boat and while we were waiting for the minkes to surface we could enjoy the gannets diving for fish. In the end of the trip we saw a group of white-beaked dolphins which came really close to the boat, very nice.

Tour at 9:00

This morning we sailed out and the sea was a little bit bumpy. We stopped in front of a group of harbour porpoises which some of the passengers were able to spot, but then headed out a bit further. We came to an area where there were a lot of feeding Gannets and surely enough there was a Minke whale in the area too! It swam along side us for quite a long time and just taking very shallow dives and surfacing quite frequently. We spotted two more Minke whales on the trip which we were able to observe quite closely, so it was a very nice trip this morning in spite of the sea being a little rough :)
