We are sailing out from Reykjavik Harbour today. The forecast predicts a little wind from the southeast and little swells.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding and Hafsúlan: The beautiful but chilly cold brought everyone out of their homes and out on a whale watching tour, so many passengers joined us that we took out two boats to provide more room. The scenery today could not be better, snow-capped mountains, blue skies and a calm sea. Three whale watching vessels scanned the bay today and Hafsúlan was the first to find a very nice pod of white-beaked dolphins, at least 10 in the pod and 1-2 juveniles. They were quite elusive and hard to approach, all vessels got a nice look at them but we all decided to leave the dolphins after a little while as we felt they were not enjoying the whale wacthing boats but stayed long enough for the passengers to get some nice pictures. The boats then headed further offshore and came across many birds, flocks of seagulls, shags and fulmars. Elding caught a very quick glimpse of a minke whale but it only surfaced once, we waited for it again but it was not to be seen again, unfortunately only seen by a few keen passangers that stayed outside. It was a nice calm sail home which we enjoyed in silence, just the roar of the engines. A wonderful day to be out and about.
