Tour at 13:00

Sailing out into the bay in perfect weather we hoped to find the Humpback Whales from the morning tour again. Due to this we headed straight out into the bay. On the way out, there were again some Harbour Porpoises that showed up in front of the boat, as usually shy and just for a short time. Not that far out than in the morning we spotted our first blow of this tour!!! Regarding the size of this blow we are sure it was a Humpback Whale, but this one didn't show up as soon as we stopped the boat. The tour was a bit difficult all in all but we stayed with two different Humpback Whales for a while, even the always surfaced only for a short time and it seemed unpredictable where around the boat to look for them. With one Minke Whale in a distance of 400 m we had in the end three of the five common species that we encounter in the bay. So all in all a day that showed us that those wild animals are unpredictable and do whatever they want to do but this is something nice in a way as well.

Tour at 9:00

Starting the day in Reykjavík older Harbour again we had high hopes like the other days before. A short stop at the Harbour Porpoises that seem to be in the same area on the last tours is getting obligatory. Once we reached the area of the Humpback Whales from the days before, we found what we were hoping for. All in all the Humpbacks seemed to be a bit busy today what effected that it was more challenging to spot them. But the third day in a row one of them was breaching!!! It was a bit further away than the days before but this time the Humpback did not only jump one or two times, today it jumped at least 9 times in a row. Again a rare sighting of the massive power of a Humpback Whale!!! An amazing day for all on the boat, passengers and crew!
