Tour at 13:00
Report from Hafsúlan This afternoon the easterly winds had picked up and we decided to head south along Reykjavik's west coast to begin with. There we found nice weather and enjoyed a relatively smooth sailing looking for cetaceans. We sailed for an hour along the coast with no luck and decided to head north towards Akranes and where we had seen cetaceans on an earlier tour. That took us a while and we were almost at the point where we had to turn back when we saw a pod of 3-4 White-beaked dolphins. Theses individuals were at first quite elusive and again we were about to leave due to time constraints when they seemed to calm down. They started swimming slower and we were able to observe them as close as 100 meters from the boat. A fantastic encounter to have at the very end of the tour and we turned back to Reykjavik happy albeit quite late.

Report from Hafsúla: We sailed out in calm conditions today from Reykjavik harbour under cloudy skies, making for good whale watching conditions. our search began to the north and we sailed along towards Akranes. This time around we had to be patient and at first we had no luck finding any cetaceans. We turned to search further south and after an hour and a half of sailing we found a pod of 4-5 White-beaked dolphins! A very nice find after a long time spent searching. These individuals were quite calm and gave us a good look at them as they swam about 200 meters from our boat. After that excellent encounter we were unfortunately out of time and had to head back to Reykjavik harbour.
