  • CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

COVID-19: Keep in mind that passengers and crew are asked to ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser is advised. Masks are not mandatory but are recommended in areas where keeping distance from others is not possible.

The seas may be rough, so as always, we have sea sickness tablets available free of charge at our ticket office. Join us by booking online or contact us directly for more information (elding@elding.is / +354 519 5000).

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: After many stormy days, we were excited to go out into the bay again with a relatively calm sea for Icelandic winter standards. On our way we encountered a myriad of seabird species, and we enjoyed them as they flew by our boat and dived into the sea. The seabirds and the snowy landscape offered nice views while we were looking for dorsal fins, blows, and splashes of cetaceans. We encountered a social group of 4-5 harbour porpoises that we got to admire close to our boat for a few minutes. Unfortunately we didn´t find any other marine mammal in the rest of the bay, so we offered complimentary tickets to all passengers. Hopefully we will have more luck during our next trip and we look forward to going out again to see Faxaflói´s wildlife!
