Report from Eldey: Sun was shining as we sailed out to Faxafloi bay this afternoon. The sky was clearing up, sprinkling some rain here and there at the beginning of the tour. The chilly wind was blowing and there was still some swell like in the morning, making it a proper sailing experience for our passengers. We got to enjoy the beautiful scenery with snow covered mountains Esja and Akrafall as we were looking out for any wildlife in the waters. After about one and a half hours of sailing, we suddendly spotted splashes next to us which turned out to be dolphins speeding up in bursts at the water surface. There were 4-5 white-beaked dolphins next to us, a little bit tricky to keep up at first but eventually they came closer to the boat allowing us to observe them properly. On our way back we encountered a second pod of 3 white-beaked dolphins. They were a bit more elusive but we got to enjoy their company for a little while as well. What an interesting tour we had with a beautiful sun set greeting us back to Reykjavik.

Report from Eldey: A beautiful morning sail allowed us to be already out on the water as the sun rose. Stunning rays of sun shining over the Capital City Reykjavik. Colours of oranges and pinks filled the skies. There was still some swell out in the bay which caused sea sickness in some. Those that stayed outside in the fresh air faired much better and enjoyed the motion. Our first cetaecan was a small pod of 2-3 white-beaked dolphins, they seemed in a playful mood and stayed mostly playing near the bow of the vessel. After 10 mins they were gone and we travelled more to the north. No other cetaceans were seen and due to the fact many didn't get a chance to see the dolphins we offered complimentary tickets to our passengers. We hope more life finds its way into the bay soon.
