Report from Eldey: What a weird tour this was, in a very good way. I didn't even get to end the introductory speech when we saw a big back rising up on the surface half a mile ahead. It was a humpback whale! It's not that usual to see them so close to the harbour and so close to the shore of an island that we have here close to Reykjavik. It was a nice time we had with this whale, but it was time to let it be and we headed away from the port area. We even saw 3-4 harbour porpoises that were behaving quite relaxed and we could take a good look Not longer then 20 minutes after that we had to change direction very suddenly because we heard of another surprise, killer whales! We reached the area in some minutes and soon we were following a pod of 4 orcas. We spent quite some time with the animals and at times they felt more curious and came 40-50 m away from us. What a breathing experiences. We left the family alone and came back to the harbour, full of beautiful memories for sure.

Report from Eldey: Blustery morning but good seas. captain did a great job using the land to gain shelter and we had a relatively smooth sea considering the wind. We traveled south first and did a big sweep of the bay before heading home. We had a nice variety of the seabirds, divers, seagulls, auks, ducks. We had traveled for 2 hours before we saw the first signs of cetaceans and it was a little confusing to what they were at first but once we got a better look we confirmed that they were ORCA. also known as killer whales. At least a pod of 3-4 individuals but they were very scattered and only surfaced a few times. It was unfortunate we saw them quite late in the tour so we couldn´t wait long or search for them more before we had to head home, due to this we decided to offer our passengers complimentary tickets to come again within the next two years.
