Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: This tour started also in Hafnarfjörður, so we had a comfortable ride for the first hour of the tour. We slowly reached one of our main whale watching areas a little further offshore, so that we had a bit of swell rocking our boat. Even though we checked the area carefully, only a few birds kept us company without any cetaceans showing up. Since the conditions were good enough to end the tour in Reykjavík harbour, that's where we headed to in the end. On our way we came across a small pod of 2-3 harbour porpoises that quickly disappeared in the swells. Since this rather disappointing but usual encounter with the small porpoises remained the only cetacean encounter on the tour, we offered the complimentary to all our passengers, valid for the next two years.

Tour at 09:00
Report from Eldey: Like yesterday, we started our morning tour from Hafnarfjörður due to strong winds coming from the Southwest. We sailed along the Reykjanes Peninsula first which provided us with some shelter from the wind and made the tour a lot more comfortable. It only got rougher when we went a little further offshore. Even though we kept searching and found an area with loads of northern fulmars and other birds which is always a promising sign no cetaceans could be found on this tour, and we finally had to make our way back to Hafnarfjörður. At least we enjoyed a beautiful day out at sea with the sun shining upon us, but of course we also offered out passengers complimentary tickets to hopefully get to see some whales and dolphins in Iceland.
