Tour at 13:00Report from Hafsúlan: The rain stopped short after we left the harbour and more of the surrounding landscape got visible during the tour. But the wind and the swell were increasing and made the search conditions much more difficult this afternoon. We had a nice view at a double and once even triple rainbow and with sunglasses we saw the clouds shimmering in rainbow colours. We could observe flocks of resting seabirds and some flying ones scattered over the area we scanned but unfortunately our tour remained a bird watching tour as no cetacean showed up in our vicinity. Hopefully the complimentary ticket will bring the necessary luck to be next time at the right moment at the right spot.

Tour at 09:00Report from Hafsúlan: There was a west south westerly wind blowing and a bit of swell on our tour but the it felt not to rough. We were mainly sailing under a cloud covered but dry sky even we had sometimes some light rain. Soon we met a pod of 5-6 harbour porpoises which appeared suddenly in front of the boat but they disappeared as quick as the appeared. Later we found 2 pods of white-beaked dolphins in total up to 15 individuals. They were mainly diving, probably herding some fish as there were a lot of direction changes and also fast movements but from time to time they showed us their sickle shaped fins and their black and white patterned back. Then we got lucky to even observe some leaps and breaches of two different animals. On our way back we came across a minke whale which popped up very close to the boat 3 times in a row. It looked like it was feeding as he changed the direction several times and appeared more or less at the same spot. Once we even saw the white pectoral fin patches under water. Also fish on the fish finder was helping to that conclusion. Even all our encounters were rather short they were very impressive as the animals were close and letting us get a nice glimpse at them.
