Report from Eldey: Clouds were clearing up again and we just had some mist on the water surface. Once getting further out into Faxafloi, we first saw a group of 6-8 harbour porpoises come up really close to the boat and surfacing numerour times, so that everyone could see them. These were followed by an awestricking pod of at least 12 white-beaked dolphins! They had 4 calves in their group which were performing jumps and other acrobatics in front of the bow for nearly 30 minutes. To top it all of, we ended the tour with a minke whale as well as more harbour porpoises. It didn't much like the company of the boat though, so we decided to leave it to itself and not disturb it. Overall everyone enjoyed the tour and will probably never forget the amazing show those dolphins put on for us.

Report from Eldey: What a lovely sunny Sunday in Faxafloi! We went from the old harbour with good feelings and a big smile in our faces as long as we knew that it was going to be a good afternoon. We had a presage. We headed to an area that apparently was full of seabirds, a good indicator of cetacean's presence and we were blessed with the best of the lucks! We saw the blow of a humpback whale in the distance so we got close and we initiated our search. It didn't take too long to locate our humpback breathing and surfacing. But it got more interesting. While contemplating this beautiful animal, we spotted in our back another cetacean in the very same area, in this case it was the minke whale. But it wasn't all! We had to look again to our front because the humpback was still there, and she wasn't alone, 2 white-beaked dolphin were swimming with her! They displayed this behavior for a long time and we enjoyed their company sailing with them while the sun was shinning, it was a magical moment! We left the area to give some space to the animals but it seemed that they enjoyed and we were amused when the humpback whale appeared again lob-tailing a couple of times not far away from our ship. It was such a great afternoon that you cannot ask for anything else: sun, whales, dolphins and good company thanks to our passengers, who became great whale-spotters during the trip!

Report from Eldey: It was a beautiful morning, the sun was out, slight wind however it was a little cold heading into the wind and the swell was a little bit too much for some of our passengers that got a little green in the face. after a hard week and sunny weekend we really can't complain. It took us a bit of time before we spotted the first cetaceans. After about one hour we saw a big blow and there was a beautiful humpback whale. We did get a good look at it, and it even surfaced really close to the boat once or twice, even got a nice photo of the when it showed it's tail going down for a deep dive. While watching the humpback whale, a minke whale showed up in the distance but we didn't get as good of look as of the humpback whale. On our way back a pod of about 3-4 harbour porpoises came playing around the boat and again a minke whale showed up, a bit far way from us. What an amazing tour, seeing 3 species in only 3 hours.
