Tour at 13:00Report from Hafsúlan: The wind had pick up a little since this morning so there was a bit of a swell but here in Iceland, a bit of a wind is not a problem! So we sailed on out the Faxaflói bay, everything looking very promising and the birdlife beeing very lifely. We had to sail for a while before we spotted a Minke Whale among diving Gannets, we saw it come up few times pretty close to us but after a while we lost it. We sailed on and saw diving Gannets in many places but sadly no more cetaceans on the tour. Insted we saw Ben Stiller filming his movie out in the bay with two helicopters circling a fishing wessel!

Tour at 09:00Report from Hafsúlan: We headed out to the bit moody looking bay this morning. We sailed about for a while before we spotted the first cetacean specie of the day, that turned out to be a small pod of White Beaked Dolphins. These were very calm dolphins, swimming close to the boat and coming up all around us so we could all got a good look. After spending a good time with the dolphins we sailed on but after a short while we spotted Harbour Porpoises very close to the boat. These were curious porpoises, coming right up to the boat and swimming around it!  We then got news about a Minke Whale in the area but this Minke was very elusive one and only few passengers managed to see it before it wanished. On our way back our passengers could enjoy the very refreshing but windy icelandic weather!

Today was a good day to be a birdnerd in Faxaflói! Common Eiders by the hundreds, diving Northern Gannets, lots of both Shaqs and Cormorants and Great Skua and Glaucious Gulls.
