Tour at 17:00Report from Hafsúlan: The clouds had gotten lighter as we sailed out from Reykjavík. We searched for a long time until we saw a very big flock of feeding birds, and so many Northern Gannets that were diving! our fish detector showed that the area was crowded with food but no spotting of whales ... But after a short time we saw a pod of 6-8 White-beaked dolphins that were just playing around, swam very close to the boat and even under it so we got a great look at their body's under the ocean surface, and we got to see a young ( baby dolphin) with them. But that was the end of the tour as our time was up and we had to head back. But the White- beaked dolphins gave us a good show although it was short, but hopefully everyone enjoyed it! - Freydís Ósk HjörvarsdóttirTour at 14:00

Report from Elding: It was even windier when we sailed out this afternoon but the sky cleared up and we had some sunshine. We tried our best and even though we saw so many Northern Gannets diving in the ocean and there were a lot of sea birds we were not able to spot some whales or dolphins. Nature is unpredictable we always have to remember that we can´t control these animals. We gave all our passengers complementary tickets valid for 2 years so they could come back on another whale watching tour with us for free.

Tour at 13:00Report from Hafsúlan: The sea conditions were still quite rocky as we headed out but the sky was clearing up and at the end of the tour we could even see the sun! We did spot some Minke Whales during the tour, but they only surfaced 1-2 times far away and were very elusive and hard to see. We must have seen around 4 animals and it was obvious that there was some life in the bay, but unfortunatly they were not up for the show in this tour. Although we saw something in the tour we felt it wasn't fullfilling and that's why we decided to give all of our passengers complementary tickets which makes them able to come back for free in the next two years ! Also they will get 15% off at our restaurant MAR (marrestaurant.is) and in our souvenir shop. Hopefully they will find a time to come with us again and get a better look at the Whales. This is what we always have to keep in mind, these are wild animals and they are not under our control, but hopefully they will be friendlier next time ! - Freydís Ósk Hjörvarsdóttir

Tour at 10:00

Report from Elding: Another windy morning in Faxa Bay and also some rain. We had to search for a long time until we spotted a pod of White Beaked Dolphins they had fun with swimming under our boat so we could see their bodies but unfortunately they soon got bored of us and we couldn´t spot them again. We didn´t manage to see any other animals on this tour so we decided to give all of our passengers complementary tickets which makes them able to come back for free in the next two years.

Tour at 9:00Report from Hafúlan: It was raining as we headed out this morning and a bit rocky sea. We searched for about an hour when we noticed the bird life was picking up. After about 20 minutes we saw a big flock of feeding birds and headed towards it to try our luck. As we were getting closer we saw a big splash and a animal surfacing, it was a Minke Whale, and actually two of them ! They were both feeding and we got an amazing look at them as they surfaced close to the boat. We could even see the white belly of the Minke's under the ocean surface and one of them took a roll and showed it's flippper. After around 20 minutes they unfortunatly swam away and the birds spreaded out. We searched  for some time to see if we would find something more but we didn't. We headed back to the harbour after a good tour with the Minke's. This just show's us how quick Wild life can change and remindes us that we always have to be on the look out! - Freydís Ósk HjörvarsdóttirBirds seen on todays tours include: Fulmars, Norhtern Gannets, Guillemots, Black-backed Gulls, Eider-ducks, Manx Shearwaters, Great Skuas & Atlantic Puffin.
