 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 10:00

Report from Elding: The sea was a bit rough this morning, but our passengers proved to have proper sea legs and as they spent the tour mostly at our outside deck, wrapped up in our warm overalls.  Unfortunately it was not possible to seee any whales or dolphins during this tour. We tried to keep track of a group of white beaked dolphins but they were being too illusive. Therefore we provided complementary tours for all our passengers, so that they can come back again with us, on another whale watching tour, for free! Hope to see them all again soon!

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 09:00

Report from Eldey: This morning we decided to go out with a lot of wind in our faces, starting a fun ride through Faxafloi Bay. While the visibility was quite good, we did get to see a pod of 3-5 harbour porpoises very close to the boat, surfacing very high out of the water, which was a very nice sight. And after over two hours of sailing, the captain did spot dolphins in the distance. It turned out to be a pod of 5-7 white-beaked dolphins and we did manage to see them coming up a few times next to our boat, once even pretty close. But the animals were not in the mood for us and disappeared fairly quickly. So we decided to offer all our passengers the option to return for another, hopefully more succesful trip with us in the future.

Bird species identified today: atlantic puffin, northern fulmar, northern gannet, common guillemot.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. If you are prone to getting sea sick, we do have sea sickness tablets available free of charge at the office and on board.
