Tour at 17:00
Report from Eldey: By now we are all used to the overcast of clouds and and rain that has been following us for some time. It was a blessing it was not raining the whole tour, only half the tour. Luckily it was not raining the first and more important part of the trip, the part where we interacted with a young humpback whale. our captain spotted the spout of the whale from the distance and soon after we were in very good company. The juvenile didn't pay much attention to us and allowed us to observe it's beauty by coming only 10 meters close to the boat. We also found out that this particular humpback was seen before and that it was called "Fish and Chips". Hopefully this will not be the last that we see of this "little guy" for the summer. :)

Report from Eldey: Although the swell lessened compared to the morning, a light rain was pouring down for the whole duration of the tour. A stiller water for a little bit of wet is not a bad trade! We put our nice overalls for protection, and we could have an easy sailing on a pale gray sea. Even though conditions were ideal for whale watching the tour was sadly unsuccessful. We did see a minke whale passing by close to our boat, but it only surfaced once and disappeared right after that. With a heavy heart, we issued complimentary tickets, and are eager to get back out there and find some cetaceans!

Report from Eldey: A very drizzly morning out on the boat with a rolling swell made this morning´s tour a bit uncomfortable. With some true vikings on board some stayed out but most got shelter inside the warm heated saloons and searched through the large windows. There was not much to see in the bay this morning accept for a small pod of 2-3 elusive white-beaked dolphins that disappeared soon after they were spotted. It was very unfortunate but this is nature and we have to take the bad tours with the good. We offered our passengers complimentary tickets to come again for another free whale watching tour and hopefully the sun and wildlife will be kinder to them next time.
