Report from Eldey: The sea was looking good from the harbour, but as soon as we passed the walls, we were greeted by a strong gust of wind! It was blowing from the South, therefore as we were getting further away the waves grew a bit stronger. But thanks to a clever maneuvering from the captain, the shaking was kept as low as possible! This allowed us to spot some harbour porpoises. There was about 8 of them, sometimes surfacing synchronously. After sighting them we were stopped in our tracks by a minke whale, that passed by in a surfacing sequence before disappearing. Because we stopped for the minke, we could see a large blow in front of the boat, and ended up having an encounter with a humpback whale! This whale had clearly lost its mind as it was heading straight toward us, dived 2m away from us and surfaced on our right, almost touching the boat! It was an exhilarating show, but unfortunately a bit short since the whale left us shortly after that. There was no more sightings after that. We did see cetaceans and had a really good look at the humpback, but since the encounter was short with both the minke and the humpback, we decided to issue complimentary tickets to our passengers. We want them to have a longer time with our aquatic friends, so let's hope they come back soon!
