CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: The sea was calm today with a little bit of low swell making the sailing pleasant. The visibility was not great with a lot of fog in the beginning. Progressively the fog cleared out and we could see further but the landscape was always hiden by clouds. We went directly in the area where the humpbacks were seen yesterday and explored it to see if they were still there. There was birds in the area but no whales. We kept going and visiting more in the south of the bay but still no luck. There was many northern fulmar gliding close to the boat during the tour, sometimes at only 2 meters from the passengers. We also saw guillemots, razorbills and one beautiful northern gannet with its very wide white wings. We went back to the harbour without seeing any whale so we gave complimentary tickets to our passengers, to give them the possibility to come back for a new whale watching tour with us in the next two years.

PREMIUM WHALE TOUR | 10:00
Report from RIB: We had a real Icelandic adventure on our RIB today with salty splashes hitting our face as we motored through Faxafloi bay. There were lots of seabirds in different areas of the bay, which we like to see as they are beautiful to observe and also often indicate that there is a lot of fish in the sea. Despite all those northern fulmars, black-legged kittiwakes and seagulls flying closely past us, we were unable to see any whales or dolphins. Maybe there was more fish to find further out into the bay? We scanned the surface of many different areas but we did not have any luck, but we did see one of the first Atlantic puffins of the season which was quite exciting! However, we want our passengers to experience the wonderful whales of this bay so we offered everyone complimentary tickets to come see a whale on our bigger boat Eldey.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: It was like the North Atlantic Ocean was taunting us. We still had memories from the previous tour, and as we got the sea in our blood and never decline a challenge, we departed in high spirits as we know it can change radically from one tour to another. It was sure cold and a little bit bumpy, so it eventually took its tool on few passengers, but despite that the scenery was misterious, with light crossing through clouds and visibility improving while the tour continued. Even though it is the World aquatic animal day, we did not see more than one short sighting of one minke whale and some white-beaked dolphins swimming at full speed. Empty tour means complimentary tickets issued to everyone. May we next time get both interesting views of landscape and animals!

PREMIUM WHALE TOUR | 14:00
Report from RIB: We motored out into the bay to explore a different area than in the morning. There were still plenty of seabirds around: we were surrounded by northern fulmars and black-legged kittiwakes that were busy feeding. We spotted two harbour porpoises but these small cetaceans disappeared very fast and we were unable to see them again as they went underwater. We scanned many different areas in search for bigger marine mammals, but it seems like they were not in the bay today. As they are wild animals, the whales are completely free to go where they want so some days we are not lucky enough to see them – still, we wanted to offer our passengers the chance to see the whales and dolphins on our big boat Eldey so we gave out complimentary tickets.
