Tour at 13:00
Report from Hafsulan: Today we sailed from Hafnarfjörður, in windy conditions but calm seas and fog that obscured the Reykjanes peninsula. On the way out we spotted a few birds and we began the search in the area we saw dolphins yesterday. Unfortunately we did not find anything there but soon after we found a large pod of White-beaked dolphins. At first we saw only a few, surfacing in small groups two or three at a time. Then they started appearing in larger groups and surfaced in many places at once. They were very friendly and sociable and displayed many behaviours such as tail slapping, porpoising and travelling. After a while with these fun cetaceans we decided to head further out and try our luck searching elsewhere. Unfourtunately we had no such luck and decided to head back to the harbour after the wind and snow picked up almost turning into a snowstorm. But despite that it was a very good tour though with the fantastic dolphins being the definate highlight.
Birds seen on today's tour: Kittiwake, Gannet, Razorbill, Cormorrant, Fulmar, Eider Ducks.
