Report from Elding: On the evening tour we went out with Elding. After 30 minutes of sailing the weather become so amazing with no to little wind and sunshine on a calm sea, perfect conditions if you want to search for whales. Soon we spotted 2 minke whales feeding in an area, they were elusive and surfaced a couple of time in different directions. But after a while we got nice views of one of them. After this the dolphins entered... An amazing small pod of 3 white-beaked dolphins were slowly traveling towards us. When they where right infront of us, they started to investigate the boat swimming under it and surfacing right next to it several times! So fun to see the dolphins equally interested in us as we were to them. We had a hard time leaving the dolphins but we had to head back to Reykjavik at one point. On the way the scenery around us was very beautiful in the sunset and some puffins kept us company.

Report from Hafsúlan: The afternoon tour started very nicely with a pod of 6 white-beaked dolphins after only 40 minutes of sailing. In the pod we found an old friend of us in the dolphin Montgomery, seen on our tours since 2012. After we left the dolphins we started to search for the minke whales seen on the morning tour. We had all together 4 sightings of at least 3 minke whales. They were very elusive and only surfaced once in the same place. When we had started to head back, one passenger spotted a blow in the distance. It proved to be another minke whale when we got a good look at it. A pod of 5-6 harbour porpoises made a short visit around the boat on our way back as well, ending the tour in a very nice way.

Report from Hafsúlan: We Started sailing west in a light breeze from east southeast. The sea had calmed down since yesterday stormy weather. After about 50 minutes of sailing we spotted a minke whale in the distance. It turned out that the area we had reached was very active with a lot of seabirds and at least 4-5 minke whales feeding around us. At one point we even turned off the engine to enjoy the feeding minkes surfacing all around us! Two pods of 2-3 harbour porpoises were also feeding in the area, surfacing close to the boat. We returned to Reykjavik harbour after a very pleasant morning tour.
