Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: It was extremely foggy in the harbour before the tour but we hoped that it would improve and luckily it did. The sea was flat and there was very little wind. It was like a summer day in the middle of the winter. The visibility was great as well and we did not need long to find a first humpback whale. The animal was going for fluke dives frequently but irregularly. We stayed with this nice individual for a while before trying to find something else a bit further. We crossed a minke whale that surfaced a couple of times before disappearing. We were low on time and decided to go back closer to Reykjavik with a little detour towards the south. Another boat found a pair of humpback whales so we went there hoping that we could see them. It was Neila and Pep! The two humpback were on the sides of the other boats and when we arrived they greeted us coming in our direction, Neila showed its pectoral fin and waved at us. The they approached even more right under our boat and were spy-hoping and rolling to look at us! It was breathtaking and it almost fell like the whales were dancing with us. We were quite late so as soon as the whales took some distance we slowly moved away and went back to Reykjavik.
