Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The day continued being amazing during the afternoon tour. Sun was shinning over the bay, and almost no wind was to be found anywhere. As soon as we left the harbour we had our first and amazing encounter: a pod of 8-10 white beaked dolphins. It was quite obvious that the animals were feeding, along with some northern fulmars that where taking advantage of the opportunity the dolphins were giving to them! Some dolphins even expressed their joy by jumping and leaping out of the water and, in the distance, we also got to see something pretty unique. There was a constant splash in the same spot, as if one of the dolphins was tail-slapping the surface repeatedly! After that, we went back on track to encounter a minke whale in a really good and relaxed mood, surfacing for quite a few times no more ar away than 100-200 m. Again, a wonderful time with the cetaceans of Faxa bay!

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: It was a very nice morning to be out at sea, flippin' cold but sunny and a completely clear sky! After about 45 min, out of nowhere a few white-beaked dolphins popped up! They were leaping right in front of the boat so we immediately got an amazing look at them. More and more dolphins were spotted, they seemed to be quite scattered about a large area, a total of at least 15-20 individuals. Some of them were quite curious and swam around as and were also bow-riding. Later on they calmed down a bit and swam very relaxed right next to us and we could take pictures fairly easily and just enjoy them. A lot of splashes in the distance revealed more dolphins around but we decided to head out to look for a minke whale or something else. It was a very nice sailing for the rest of tour, even though we did not see any other cetaceans around. Beautiful day, we want more of them. :-)
