Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding: What a surprise! We spotted a minke whale quite early! It liked to dive a rather longer time but we were patient and got to see it several times. It was feeding at the bottom and stayed always in the same area so we could easily spot it when it came up to surface to breathe. The second boat spotted a group of white-beaked dolphins and we went there. They were really nice, they swam around the boat and approached it several times. While enjoying the dolphins suddenly a minke whale surfaced several times just beside the boat! This was fantastic¨! In the end we had quite nice tour!

Report from Hafsúlan: The sea was nice and calm this afternoon as we set off to look for the whales. We were surprised to find one Minke whale not too far from the shore, because this morning the whales were much further out. We were able to observe this whale for a few minutes, but then we headed out a bit further. We found a really great group of white-beaked dolphins and even one Minke whale around in the same area. Both the dolphins and the Minke whale approached the boat and we were able to observe them pretty closely a couple of times! On the way back to the harbour we spotted one more Minke whale, so it was a really nice trip out on the bay today :)

Once again the whales liked to stay rather far out in Faxaflóibay and we spent much time sailing there. On the way there we spotted a group of lovely white-beaked dolphins. We spent much time with them and enjoyed them a lot! We kept on searching and found finally a minke whale but it was diving a really long time so we gave up! On the way home than we suddenly spotted a few harbour porpoises. Despite of the long diving minke whale we had some nice sightings!
