Status: RUNNING

We are sailing out from Reykjavik Harbour today. The forecast predicts wind from the east and we can experience some swells.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan and Elding: It was an amazing day out at sea this afternoon, the sea was calm and the visibility great. You could see all the 120km to Snæfellsnes peninsula. The snowy scenery was also stunning and even if there was no wildlife the tour would have been an adventure. As Elding left the harbour we saw a gyr falcon swoop past and fly over Harpa concert hall. That in it´s self was incredible as these birds are mainlyonly seen around the city in the winter time. There were four whale watching vessels out on the bay today, two from our company and two from other companies. We could then search a huge area and keep in contact with each other if someone see´s something. Elding was the first to spot the blow  about 800 meters towards Reykjanes after about 40 minutes of sailing. A humpback whale and what a great humpback whale it was. It was traveling at first but then started to feed, lunging and rolling at the surface. It also fluked many times for everyone to get that tail shot with the snow-capped mountains in the background. After about 45 minutes we left the whale in peace and searched more of the bay. The birdlife was also great and passed many flock of feeding birds. A perfect day to be out on the water.
