Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The swell was a bit lower in the afternoon and we also were lucky enough to enjoy some sunshine during our tour, despite the cold wind and light rain. We stayed closer to land during this tour, to be able to avoid some of the swell in the bay. After searching for quite some time we decided to head further out anyway, but were not blessed with cetaceans in this area either. When already heading back to the harbour a group of feeding gannets caught our eye and we stopped to have a closer look. It proved to be a good decision, as we saw 3 minke whales in this area! However, it was only a short encounter, as the animals came to the surface only once or twice each. As we want our passengers to enjoy more time with these incredible whales, we offered them complimentary tickets for the tour, so they can try their luck on another whale watching trip.

Report from Eldey:  We were very exciting to finally better weather. Morning started with almost no wind but we still had to face a swell - leftover from yesterday's storm. Spotting conditions were amazing and we were looking forward to see some cetaceans.  View over snow covered mountains and huge waves crashing next to lighthouse Grotta was also a great bonus to this tour. We had fun and we enjoyed being on the water but unfortunately we didn't see any whales or dolphins. One minke whale was spotted by the crew but it was seen only once. We offered complimentary tickets so our passengers will have a second chance to meet with sea giants.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today.
