Tour at 17:00

Report from Eldey: What an evening. The whole day has been absolutely incredible and this tour did not disapoint either. On the way out we saw many seabirds including the Atlantic puffin that everyone is always excited to see. After 40 minutes of sailing we came across a pod of 6-7 white-beaked dolphins (looked to be resting) and a minke whale in the same area but a little bit further in the distance. These were great but after a little time we traveled further and found one more minke whale and an area of at least 20-30 harbour porpoises. They were no where to be seen on the way out but in this area we found the harbour porpoise jackpot. They were incredible, so small and cute as they popped up to the surface to breath. If that wasn't enough we also found an area where 3 scattered humpback whales were feeding amongst a flocks seabirds and another minke whale. It was hard to leave but we were already late heading home. It is very rare that we get such good weather in the North Atlantic but when there is  good weather and lots of wildlife in the bay it make a day to remember. for the rest of your life. Just amazing.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: When we sailed out there was some light rain but the sky quickly cleared and we had blue skies and smooth water. In the beginning of the tour we spotted some lovely puffins just swimming on the surface. Later in the tour we spotted harbour porpoises, they were all around and we kept seeing some during the rest of the tour. In total we saw about 20-30 porpoises. After seeing the porpoises we saw a number of minke whales scattered throughout the tour. While looking at a minke, we saw a blow in the distance while traveling towards it we realized it was a humpback whale. The animal was feeding and we actually saw its baleen plates. While moving away from the humpback whale we spotted a group of white-beaked dolphins, a pod of between 6-7 individuals. A great tour with 4 species and the amazing sight of a feeding humpback whale.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed out in beautiful conditions, the sky was clear and the water was like glass. We didn't even need the overalls for most of the tour because it was so warm. We hadn't gone far out when we spotted some white-beaked dolphins and when we got closer we saw there were about 30-40 of them. They were feeding and playing all around the boat and some of them got really close as well so it was an awesome encounter. We then headed further out and spotted some harbour porpoises. There were maybe 20-30 of them scattered all around the bay so we were lucky enough to see them throughout the tour. We also spotted five minke whales, first we saw two of them in the same area but they were traveling together and then at the end of the tour we saw three more. On our way back to the harbour we saw more harbour porpoises. It was an awesome tour of great weather and amazing encounters with three different species!
