Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 09:00 and 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

COVID-19: Keep in mind that passengers and crew are asked to ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitizer is advised.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: We sailed into Faxa Floi with a little bit of swell and in the grey. I always like these grey moody days and was excited to see what today brings. There was plenty of bird life around but still no sign from cetaceans. After over an hour of sailing we spotted 6 white beaked dolphins! They first stayed a far but then briefly came quickly to the boat and then vanished again. We started heading back to harbour when we spotted a blow in the distance. We went to investigate but it was very elusive and remained hidden. In the end complimentary tickets were given as the encounters were quite brief and we wanted to give the passengers the chance to come again.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: In the afternoon the grey had vanished and we saw a beautiful blue sky. We sailed out with a new hope. It was extremely windy on our sail out as we were trying to go in hugging the shore and then go inwards from there. As soon as we turned it was lovely and calm. We then suddenly were joined by 6 white beaked dolphins. And then suddenly a bigger blow in the distance. We sailed towards it and found Pep the humpback whale again. She came very close to us and was also surrounded by 6 more white beaked dolphins. It did take us a while to find them but in the end it was a great tour as Pep came very close. We could hear her blow and she was investigating the boat - very magical. We turned an headed back to harbour a little late but with everyone still in awe.
