Tour at 17:00
The weather was the same when we headed out again. And this time we spotted three species. First a small group of Harbour porpoises crossed our path. Then, a little bit further out a very nice group of White-beaked dolphins. They surfaced all around us even though they had a small calf with them. And then we found in an area with some diving Gannets, two Minke whales. They surfaced many times and all our passengers could enjoy them allot. We ended the tour by visiting the Puffin island Akurey So all together fantastic tour;)
Tour at 13:00
The weather was not the best for this tour, a little windy, drizzling rain and poor visibility. We started the tour at Puffin Island (Lundey) and saw loads, sitting on the waters surface, outside their borrows and flying around the island. We then headed out into Faxaflói and it was quite a while before we came across our first Minke Whale. But, once we got to the area there seemed to be a lot. We must of watched at least 4 or 5 different individuals. Two of them were travelling together and on occasion we saw some surface less than 20 meters from our boat and once or twice surfing the waves. The seabirds were also enjoying the windy weather and the food, Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Gulls, Skuas, Puffins, Razorbills, Guillemots etc... Excellent trip
Tour at 09:00
The weather was calm but there was a bit of swell and it was raining allot when we headed out this morning. We started at the Puffin colony Lundey and lucky we were, there were lots of Puffins on and around the island. Then we headed out to the bay. After sailing for some time we spotted diving Gannets. And in the same area we saw 6-10 Minke whales. 4-5 of them came very close to our boat, when others surfaced much further away. But then suddenly one of the Minke whale came up to the surface with the white belly-up, and not only once, TWO times. It was absolutely amazing. It was a very pleasant surprise, something we do not see every day. We stayed in this area for some time enjoying the whales allot. Then we headed back to the harbor with a lot of smiling passengers. Very nice tour ;)
