✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE |  9:00

Report from Elding: We have to deal with another cloudy and wet day in August this summer. This tour was for the brave of heart, since we also had considerable swell together with the rain. To make the tour more pleasant our captain took the more southern route closer to the beautiful Reykanes peninsula where we saw an example of the cliffs we have along a big part of the Icelandic coast. Even though all the crew scanned the area with their eyes diligently and for a long time we just couldn’t spot any cetaceans except 4-5 harbour porpoises on this tour. We thought that this area was worth investigating since this is where we saw a spout from a large animal from afar on yesterdays tour, but luck just wasn’t with us this morning. For this reason we decided to give out complementary tickets to our guests to come on another tour in hopes of that one being more successful.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today for the tour at 9:00. The tour at 13:00 is cancelled due to the weather conditions. There could be some movement out on the bay today, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.

At this time we have to ask that all our guests and staff ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser on a regular basis is advised, as well as wearing a face mask when keeping a 2 metre distance from others is not possible. Masks are available for purchase in our ticket office and hand sanitiser stations are located in high traffic areas.
