Tour status: RUNNING

Tour at 17:00

Report from Eldey: The wind had picked up, compared to previous tours, as we sailed out in Faxafloí Bay from Reykjavik. After sailing for an hour we came across a pod of 7-8 white beaked dolphins. These dolphins were really fun to watch as they were extremely active. They were hunting and they were quite acrobatic jumping out of the water, spinning around and flipping over. We enjoyed these dolphins for some time, until we decided to head home towards Reykjavik. When we were half an hour from Reykjavik two white beaked dolphins showed up out of nowhere, and reminded us wildlife is unpredictable. Tonights trip was all about dolphins, and it was quite a performance they showed us.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: As the wind picked up more clouds covered the sky, but overall sea conditions were still good. That allowed us to quickly find a spot where soon we were surrounded by 3 minkes whales. Similarly to this morning, it was difficult to focus with all of these individuals surfacing randomly all around us and with the northern gannets raining from every side! As they say, the more the merrier, we were joined by a pod of 5 white-beaked dolphins that definitely wanted to participate to the party! Awe and confusion ensued, we had a blast! When the area got busy with boats, we went away and found another spot with another 3 minke whales, all of them swimming close to us, and the last one even hanging out behind for few minutes. Today's the bee's knees!

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: Wow. Possibly today our boat wandered across another dimension. That's the only possible explanation for a cruise on a such a nice, calm sea and with such a warm temperatures and blue sky! This morning felt like a summer in Spain, minus few degrees Celsius. Whatever the reason, we thoroughly enjoyed without questioning anything! And so did the cetaceans! It hardly possible to count all the minke whales we saw feeding around, but at least a 12-15, scattered in a very good feeding spot. And this tour would not have been complete without the presence of 8-10 white-beaked dolphins split into two pods! We spent almost the entire tour looking back and forth, left and right, because so much was happening! Let's not forget the bird, we also got a spectacular show of northern gannets pouring down from everywhere in an impressive dive festival! What a blast!
